Loksatta Party condemns goondaism by NCP workers, calls it an attack on democracy

The Loksatta Party strongly condemns yesterday's violence at the Aam Aadmi Party's Mumbai office by NCP workers. It is shocking that the attack was perpetrated by members of a party that is ruling the state and whose leader is the state's home minister responsible for law and order, the party said.

The increasing use of strong-arm tactics by sections of the political class is a shame for a state known for its rich tradition of dissent and reform. All such violence is an attack on democracy and deserves to be condemned, Loksatta Party's Maharashtra president Dr Kedar Diwan said.

General Secretary Mr Rajesh Jogani warned that politicians using violence would be shown their place in the elections that follow later this year and called upon citizens to vote out parties and candidates using these despicable tactics.
